Patchmaster

My front yard has been in a rather sad state of affairs. I finally tackled it today. I removed an entire yard waste bag of crabgrass and weeds. Gross. But also cathartic. I *love* pulling weeds. Call me crazy. I opted for Scott’s “Patchmaster” which includes fertilizer, seed and paper to keep it all damp and near the ground. I should have blades of grass in 7 to 14 days. Fingers crossed!

New Rug

I’ve been looking for a new dining room rug for quite some time. I had my heart set on one at Home Goods. I didn’t act soon enough and it was gone. Thanks to my mom’s keen design eye, I’m the proud new owner of this beauty, if I do say so myself.

Goodbye, Chair and Ottoman

My mom gave me a chair and ottoman for my college graduation present. For some reason, I picked out the fabric highlighted above. Not my best choice. Then again, it was one I made almost almost 10 years ago. The chair is moving on to a better place. Kim picked it up tonight. It’s going to live a second life at her mom’s house. With new skin. Goodbye, chair and ottoman.

Best.Salad.Ever

I

I love.love.love salads especially fun summer salads. Lisa and her sister Amy (in the mitten while on vacay from her life in Turkey) came over tonight for dinner. Of course, I elected to serve my latest obsession. Strawberries, pineapple, mandarin oranges and blueberries on a bed of fresh greens with pecans and fat free poppy seed dressing. Yummy!

Bunk Beds

Nickelodeon’s Salute Your Shorts always made me want to go to summer camp as a kid. Although it wasn’t Camp Onawana, I did get to experience the bunk beds at
Camp Devereaux last night. There’s nothing like time with a girlfriend away from the city to refuel the spirit.
